Coffee represents a true ritual in the lives of many people around the world, which is why an International Coffee Day has become necessary to celebrate it!
Do you ever stop and think about how important coffee is during your day? It’s the first thing you think of doing right after waking up, or an unmissable appointment throughout the day, 365 days a year: alone, together with old friends, during a business meeting or at the café for your first date. Drinking a coffee can be done anytime and in so many different ways!
Espresso, decaf, cappuccino, long or short, moka or filter, whether in winter or summer, it’s a ritual that unites millions of people.
October 1st is International Coffee Day, a chance to savor and appreciate everything related to this daily “in a cup” appointment and to celebrate one of the world’s greatest passions. It was established in 2015 by the International Coffee Organization.
Have you ever noticed how many cafés and coffee shops of all kinds are scattered everywhere? It’s a true love relationship with this caffeine-based drink.
Today, we celebrate not only the coffee you’re about to sip from your cup. We celebrate everything inside that cup: coffee from the very beginning, from its origins, what has the power to bring us together. We celebrate the people who work so that you can enjoy all the flavors and aromas it can offer. Being passionate about coffee also means loving the people behind it: from the farmer on the plantation on the other side of the world to the barista who serves it at the counter.
More and more every day, our main work is based on quality, traceability, sustainability, and relationships with farmers and with our customers, who are at the center of our world.
The core theme of International Coffee Day is to promote fair trade, raise awareness about the conditions of coffee farmers, in an effort to support their prosperity and reduce the environmental impact of the coffee industry. This is what coffee means to us: dreaming of a future full of extraordinary coffee and extraordinary people.
Today, we remain perfectly in tune with this theme by shining a spotlight on the projects we have chosen to support over the past year. We identify so deeply with fair-trade values that we didn’t want to just stand by and watch.
Together with a few other partners, CaffèLab created Women in Coffee Italy, the association supporting women along the entire coffee supply chain, which brings together 29 other organizations worldwide. Our goal is to promote and encourage the growth of the international community of women working in the coffee market. We give voice to this project through the one and only true star: coffee. But not just any coffee—this is a special, certified coffee, exclusively part of this all-female network.
So, what’s the best way to celebrate this day? By enjoying an excellent coffee, together! For just a few days you can choose your favorite from a selection of outstanding coffees with 20% off.
Coffee unites us, its story binds us.
Happy International Coffee Day, from our cup to yours.
