Everything you want to know
Not only when the weather gets hot, preparing an excellent cold coffee is a must for every Barista and coffee lover. Choosing a cold extraction avoids extracting the bitter notes of coffee and limits the acidity.
The Toddy, a coffee maker created in 1964 by Todd Simpson, a Cornell graduate in chemical engineering, has since then been an innovative filter coffee extraction system. Its ability to enhance every pleasant note of coffee, keeping the acidity low and the concentration of antioxidants high, make it still today one of the best cold brew coffee brewers.
The Toddy is ideal for cold served coffee at home, but also in small coffee shops.
With the Toddy Cold Brew Home version, the extraction takes place by infusion with cold water. After 12 hours of rest, you will obtain a real coffee concentrate that can be kept in the fridge for up to one week. It should be diluted with cold water (in a ratio of 1 part of coffee concentrate / 2 parts of water), milk, tonic water, almond or milk.
In our tests we use a brew ratio of 250g of ground coffee per 1 liter of water.
